How did we come up with the idea?

To begin our projects we sent an email to the James Strath Public School's Kindergarten teachers, in hopes to set up a meeting. Once we arrived at our meeting we got the chance to visit the site and observed it. They told us they had an old sink that we might be interested in using for our project. The team then gave us many different suggestions and ideas that would could us in our projects. However, later that day they emailed use three key suggestions that they would like us to look into; a mud kitchen, music wall and outdoor art area. After receiving the email we got together as a group to discuss their suggestions and choose who would gather information for each of the ideas. Using that information we put together a PowerPoint presentation as a visual board. Everyone took a part which they want to do and then put it on google slides so that other members of the team can see it. We created the glimpse of a mud kitchen, music wall and outdoor play area, and also adding information about what material we would need, and how much it would cost. After completion of the google slides, we share it with the kindergarten team, present our ideas to them. They liked all of our ideas but then decided it might be hard to create them because of the school board rules and regulations. In the hopes to get the project done on time and because of regulations they suggested a different idea. The team then let us know they had an old library wagon that no one was using, suggesting we create a wonder wagon filled with different loose parts. From there, we started working hard to prepare a collection of ideas to present to the kindergarten team, for our wonder wagon. As our group collected this information, we started to do our research. What was a wonder wagon? And What could we do with it to explore outdoor learning?

Soon after we met with the kindergarten team to discuss the wonder wagon. In preparation, they put together a list of possible items they would like to see in their wonder wagon, paint swatches, clipboards, pinecones, outdoor games, recycled materials and many more. They told us that this would be a great idea, as they already had an old library wagon that wasn’t being used. After seeing the wagon, we created a plan, putting a list of possible loose parts ideas together, and searching out where and what we could do with the materials we found. Our group then put together a slide for the kindergarten team to review, before they gave us our final approval. Once we received their approved we started to purchase and find ideas that could be used in the wonder wagon.
